Decorative Bark 70L Bag
Decorative Chopped Bark 70L bag
Decorative Bark – 70 Litre Bag
This top quality chipped bark utilising the best raw materials available. Ideal for top dressing beds and boarders. Looks great and enriches the soil at the same time. The product is highly decorative in appearance and can be used for all mulching operations where aesthetics are of primary importance.
The product is long lasting if maintained properly and laid to a minimum of 50mm depth.
Features and benefits:
- Bark mulch locks in vital moisture and keeps weeds at bay, creating the perfect backdrop for happy healthy plants
- Can be used all year round
- Barks and mulches help to protect plant roots from extreme weather conditions
- Reseal the bag after use. Keep in a cool and dry place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Store away from garden chemicals to prevent contamination
How to use in beds & borders:
Prepare the area by removing all weeds and debris. Spread a layer of bark 2.5cm to 5cm deep evenly over the bed or border. For best results lay a perforated plastic or fabric membrane under the bark. Cut an x-shaped hole in the membrane and place shrubs and plants into the planting hole under the membrane. Spread the bark chips back under the plant canopy to hide the membrane. Remove any annual weeds as they appear. Maintain a good mulch layer and replenish with fresh bark annually.
Use in pots/containers
Leave a 5-7cm space at the top of each container. Spread a 3-5cm layer over the top of the compost or soil. This will provide a thermal insulation making the pots less likely to dry out. Remove annual weeds as they appear. Check the compost underneath is fresh at least once a year and top up the bark.
